Asahidake Ski Course is a special ski resort located in Daisetsuzan National Park, where Hokkaido's majestic nature is woven. The biggest feature of this ski resort is the superb powder snow that spreads on the slopes of Asahidake, the highest peak in Hokkaido. Asahidake, with an altitude of 2,291m, is known as one of the places in Japan where light and dry snow falls due to its altitude and weather conditions. This snow quality, called "Ja Powder (Japanese powder snow)" among ski enthusiasts, is reputed to feel like you are gliding on clouds when skiing. The ski resort has four different courses (Courses A to D), and each course is designed to make the most of the 500m difference in altitude. The longest run is 3,500m, and you can enjoy both exhilaration and a sense of challenge at the same time. On the other hand, since this ski resort is located in a national park, the facilities are kept to a minimum. For example, there is only one lift and no gondola.
